Team USA knocks off Great Britain at Paralympic Cup PDF Print E-mail

The United States jumped out to a 14-2 lead in their game against Great Britain and were never challenged in their 63-41 victory in the first round of the BT Paralympic Cup in Manchester, England.   Brian Bell, who scored 9 of Team USA’s first 11 points, led the winners with 19 points and 11 rebounds in just 22 minutes of action.  Chris Okon added 17 points on five three-pointers while Steve Serio added 11 points, eight rebounds and eight assists.  Dan Highcock and Jonathon Hall led GB with 10 points each. 

The U.S., which led by as many as 26 points, dominated every aspect of the game. They outscored GB 44-18 in the paint and outrebounded the host team 46-36. The U.S. returns to action on Thursday when they meet Australia in a second round match-up.  Australia easily dispensed Germany in their opening day game.
