Sports Biography:

Long time member of the fabled Detroit / Westland Sparks. Joe was a member of the Sparks Team that captured the NWBA National Title three times between 1974 and 1991. The Sparks were the dominant team of the late 60's right through the early 1990's. Joe was also a member of the Toledo Silver Streaks, Nashville Music City Lightening, Fresno Red-Rollers and the Ann Arbor/Michigan Thunderbirds. While an active player, he was selected the Lake Michigan Conference "Rookie of the Year" in 1974-75 and All Conference 1974-1981. In his NWBT appearances, he was 2nd Team All-Tournament Team 3 times and selected to the 1st Team All- Tournament Team 13 times. In addition to his NWBA statistics, he was a member of the Paralympic Team (1980-Arnhem), Gold Cup Team, (1981-1983 and 1986). He also was a member of the USA Team that toured Japan in 1981.
