The USA U-21 Women are 2-0 after their first day of Competition in Argentina. They beat Canada and Argentina each by over 10 points and will compete again tomorrow. Learn more about some of the players below:

Watch the USA Men take on Argentina in the Finals of the 2013 Americas Cup at 3:30pm Central Time today, Sunday, August 11th. The USA men along with Argentina, Mexico and Colombia have already qualified for the 2014 World Championships.

New York City Wheelchair Basketball Tournament Returns on October 5-6, 2013

The 13th annual Matthew Sapolin Memorial Wheelchair Basketball Tournament (formerly the Mayor’s Cup) will bring the nation’s best wheelchair basketball teams to New York City for two days of non-stop action on October 5 & 6! The tournament, held at Manhattan College in the Bronx, is the largest of its kind in the Northeast and has become one of the premier events on the National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) schedule. The deadline for teams to register is September 13th so make sure to sign up soon! For more information about this year’s tournament, please visit Facebook.com/SapolinTournament

Grace: Wheelchair athlete doesn't dwell on closed doors; he's pushed open many others

Mike Kult is taking me on a building tour when, suddenly, a closed door appears. I panic at the protocol.

Do I let him get the door because he is my host at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and he's a man, and this is still a social convention I follow?

Or do I rush to open the door to spare him the reach — he IS in a wheelchair. And good grief, how many doors are there in UNO's massive, redone athletic building

NWBA Summer Wheelchair Basketball Camp

The NWBA has recently received funding to assist in hosting 3 summer camps during 2013.  These summer camps will provide an introduction for some and elite instruction for others in the sport of wheelchair basketball.  Interested participants planning on attending this camp will participate in a variety of drills focusing on individual development and team concepts.  The head instructor  for the camps will range from the NWBA’s elite coaches at the International level and Intercollegiate Division level.  Camp instructors will be from the USA Wheelchair Basketball Program or a NWBA Intercollegiate Division Program.

Thank you to USA Basketball for allowing Paul Schulte to speak to their group of U16 men that were attending tryouts at the same time as our camp. USA Basketball put together a story interviewing Paul. More to follow.

Congratulations to the 20 men selected to the 2013 USA Men's Team.  The team will be cut to 12 by July 1st.  The final 12 will compete in Bogota, Colombia August 4-11 in the America's Zone World Qualifier.

The National Wheelchair Basketball Association holds its 64th annual national championships in Louisville, Kentucky this weekend.

Yeah, THAT Louisville, Kentucky—home of the Kentucky Derby, Louisville Slugger and the 2013 NCAA men’s basketball champion University of Louisville Cardinals.
